The Logan County Detention Center Special Response Team (S.R.T.) is comprised of specially trained Deputy Jailers who are trained in the use of Specialty Impact Munitions, O.C., TASER, and Distraction Devices. Each Deputy goes through a physical fitness test along with an employee job performance evaluation check and must pass both before being accepted onto the team by the Jailer and the S.R.T. Commander.
The Special Response Team (S.R.T.) is prepared to handle and defuse occurrences that regular floor Deputies may not be able to. Those occurrences include but are not limited to controlling non-compliant inmates, cell extraction and riot situations, escapes and high risk transports. It is the goal of the Special Response Team to use the minimum amount of force necessary to achieve the desired objective.
